Unpublish your checkout

Select your desired store under Stores.

Select Checkout, then select Advanced and click on Unpublish from Shopify.

A green notification will appear in the top-right corner to confirm that you have successfully unpublished your checkout.

You can now continue customizing your checkout and publish it once it is ready.
